Manchester: Kevin De Bruyne, the elegant architect behind Manchester City's golden era, has announced he will leave the club this summer, calling these his "final months" in an emotional goodbye.

The 33 -year- old Belgian maestro, whose artistry has dazzled the Premier League for nearly a decade, shared the heartbreaking news in a touching message on social media Friday.
“Nothing about this is easy to write,” De Bruyne penned. “But as football players, we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here.”

Having arrived in 2015 from Wolfsburg for 71 million dollars, De Bruyne blossomed into one of the greatest play-makers the English game has ever seen. His vision, precision, and tireless drive helped City lift an astonishing 16 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup.
“This city. This club. These people… gave me EVERYTHING. I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what — we won EVERYTHING,” he wrote. “Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye.”

The gravity of the moment was not lost on City boss Pep Guardiola, who called it a “sad day.”

“In the Premier League, he is one of the greatest midfielders ever to play in this country," said Guardiola. “His assists, his goals, his vision in the final third — that is so difficult to replace.”

With 118 Premier League assists, De Bruyne stands second only to Ryan Giggs (162) on the all-time list — a staggering feat considering he reached that mark in just 280 appearances, less than half of Giggs’ total. He’s netted 106 goals in 413 games for City, and twice claimed the PFA Player of the Year award.

His journey, though glittering now, wasn’t always easy. Signed by Chelsea from Genk in 2012, De Bruyne was marginalized and made only two league starts before reigniting his career at Wolfsburg. There, he flourished, and City took a chance that changed everything.

Now, nearly a decade later, that journey comes full circle. While De Bruyne hasn’t revealed his next move or whether he’ll compete in this summer’s Club World Cup in the U.S., his legacy is already etched in football history.

He wasn't just a player. He was the heartbeat of a footballing dynasty.

Thank you, Kevin De Bruyne. For every pass, every goal, every moment of magic. Manchester City will never forget.
