Asian Games 2026: Chikita, Sahil Win Gold in Mixed Compound Archery

Nagoya: India won gold in the mixed team compound archery event at the Asian Games, with Chikita Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav clinching the top spot. The Indian pair defeated South Korea's Jungyoon Park and Yoongee Choi in a shoot-off to win the gold medal.

The contest went into a shoot-off after both teams finished the fourth end with 157 points each. Chikita and Sahil scored 10 points each, while Park also scored 10. Choi, however, scored only 9 points, handing India the gold.

This was India's second gold medal in archery and the country's eighth gold at the Asian Games.

Earlier, the Indian women's compound archery team had won gold with a record performance. The team comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikita Taniparthi and Preetika Pradeep defeated China 234-228 in the final. India had reached the final after defeating South Korea 234-233.
