New Delhi: The Indian Express reported that in a all party meeting called by the central government to discuss the energy crisis following the West Asian conflict, the Muslim League supported the Modi government. While all other opposition parties strongly criticised the government's actions in addressing the crisis, the League, which is a part of the UDF, took a pro-government stance.

The meeting, chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, saw sharp criticism from the opposition on the government's foreign policy. Issues like the U.S. attack on Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to Israel, and the assassination of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were raised, with the opposition questioning the government's silence on these matters. It was in this context that the Muslim League decided to support the central government.

Muslim League MP P.V. Abdul Wahab, in the meeting, endorsed the government's claim that there was no LPG shortage in the country and advised not to create unnecessary panic on the issue. He expressed satisfaction with the government's explanation about the 60-day stockpile. However, when other opposition leaders raised several critical points, Wahab remained silent on those matters.

Congress leader Tariq Anwar, among others, dismissed the government's claims, reiterating that the current LPG stock was insufficient and that the government's measures were unsatisfactory.
