Udhayanidhi Stalin Slams TVK Government, Says Farmers Bear Brunt of Rule

Chennai: Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has launched a sharp attack on the TVK administration, alleging that the state's development trajectory has been pushed backward under its watch, drawing a contrast with the DMK's tenure in power.
Addressing a gathering at a wedding function in Pattukkottai on Sunday, Udhayanidhi recalled that Tamil Nadu had achieved the top rank among Indian states during five years of DMK governance, posting 11.19 percent growth. He alleged that Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay showed little concern for the challenges currently facing the state, claiming that the public had begun to recognise this indifference.
Udhayanidhi took particular aim at the functioning of the Assembly, saying that opposition members regularly arrive prepared to raise urgent issues such as law and order and farmers' hardships, only to find that Vijay does not respond to them directly. He noted that responses were typically left to just three or four ministers, whose answers, he claimed, often had little bearing on the questions actually posed, describing their approach as a deliberate tactic to deflect attention.
He went on to allege that ruling party ministers and MLAs displayed minimal genuine interest in discussing issues affecting citizens within the Assembly, suggesting their real priority appeared to be producing a few Instagram reels from the day's proceedings rather than substantive engagement.

The DMK leader also noted that across the 105 days since TVK assumed power, farmers have suffered the most as a community, bearing the heaviest impact of the government's policies.
