BJP Goons Allegedly Unleash Chaos Following Swatantra Bharadwaj’s Arrest; 14-Year-Old Student Activist Seeks Protection

New Delhi: Following the arrest of right-wing content creator Swatantra Bharadwaj in connection with the attack on the father of a student activist, who participated in the CJP protest, the minor activist has alleged that stones were hurled at their house. The 14-year-old has now sought police protection for herself and her family following the attack.

In videos posted on X, the girl alleged that a group of goons who gathered outside their house threw stones and bricks at the residence. She alleged that BJP goons had surrounded their home and urged the Delhi and Ghaziabad police to provide protection to her family. “If something happens to my parents, who will be held responsible?” she asked in the video.

A Delhi court on Saturday remanded 21-year-old Swatantra Bharadwaj to one day of police custody in connection with the attack that seriously injured student activist's father during the Jantar Mantar protest. The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested him from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

The case became controversial again after Bharadwaj revealed in a podcast that he had carried out the attack. He claimed in the podcast that he had smashed the father’s head and that he was released from the police station within hours because of his influence and close relation with leaders of the ruling party.

Following widespread public outrage, police arrested Bharadwaj by invoking additional provisions under the SC/ST Act and the POCSO Act forthreatening a minor girl online.
