New Delhi: Amid the NDA’s sweeping performance in Bihar, the Left Front managed to win three seats. CPI ML secured two seats and CPI M won one seat. CPI M retained its sitting seat in Bibhutipur with a strong majority, while CPI ML held on to the Paliganj and Karakat constituencies. In Ajiwon constituency, the CPI ML candidate lost by just 95 votes.
CPI M lost its sitting seat in Manchi by around ten thousand votes. In this seat, the Jansuraj Party candidate secured 9,197 votes, which ended up helping the JDU candidate Randhir Kumar Singh. Randhir Singh is the son of Prabhu Nath Singh, who is serving a life sentence in a murder case.
In Hayaghat constituency, the CPI M candidate Shyam Bharati secured 65,383 votes and finished in second place. In another constituency, Pipra, CPI M candidate Rajmangal Prasad finished second with 99,677 votes. While BJP and JDU candidates sought votes through money and caste calculations, Left Front candidates appealed for votes on the promise of development and social justice.
