Srinagar: Reports indicate that several drones attempted to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir. On Sunday night, the Indian Army fired at a drone in the Naushera sector, officials said, adding that multiple other drones were also detected in the area.

A video reportedly showing one of the infiltration attempts has also surfaced. The army is conducting searches to determine whether any weapons or narcotics were being carried via the drones. Yesterday, a drone coming from the direction of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) reportedly dropped arms in the Samba sector.

Officials noted further sightings of drones in Rajouri and neighboring areas: At 6.35 pm, a drone was spotted in Rajouri district, a drone infiltration was noticed at Chak Babrala in Samba’s Ramgarh sector at 7.15 pm, and around 6.25 pm, a similar object was seen in the Toppa area of Mankote sector near the LoC in Poonch district.

The army confirmed that the drones were targeted using machine guns. During Operation Sindoor, India had previously shot down several drones coming from Pakistan, after which such infiltrations had significantly decreased. However, five drone intrusion attempts were reported just yesterday, signaling a resurgence in such activity.
