India Launches Special Flights to Evacuate Citizens Stranded in Gulf Amid Iran-Israel War

New Delhi: The Union Government is launching special flights to bring back Indian citizens stranded in Gulf countries amid the escalating Iran-Israel war in the Middle East.
Due to the closure of air routes and flight cancellations, thousands of Indians are stranded in various Gulf countries. The Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with airlines including Air India, is making special arrangements to bring them back to India safely.
In the first phase, citizens from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE will be brought home. As there is a risk of war, many countries have temporarily closed their airspace.
To overcome this, it has been decided to operate the service using alternative routes. Priority will be given to those who register through Indian embassies in Gulf countries.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has stated that it is prepared to send more flights in case of an emergency. To ensure the safety of expatriates, the Ministry of External Affairs has also set up a 24/7 helpline number.
