New Delhi: A minor aircraft collision occurred at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, where the wings of two aircraft—operated by Akasa Air and SpiceJet—came into contact during ground movement. No injuries were reported.
The Akasa Air flight was preparing to depart for Hyderabad with passengers on board when the incident took place at the parking bay. During this time, a SpiceJet aircraft arriving at the same bay reportedly collided with its wing.
All passengers were immediately deboarded and moved to safety. SpiceJet’s aircraft sustained damage, with a portion of its wing broken.
Akasa Air stated that alternate arrangements were made to transport passengers to Hyderabad on another aircraft. Both planes have been grounded and moved for maintenance and repair work.
