UAE Minister Lauds Kerala’s Progress, Praises Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for Eradicating Extreme Poverty

Abu Dhabi: UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, praised Kerala for its exceptional achievements in education, social progress, and sustainable development while addressing Malayalolsavam held in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Nahyan extended warm greetings to the Malayali community, expressing deep appreciation for their contribution to the UAE’s growth and cultural diversity. “The people of Kerala have built a remarkable global community known for its talent, competence, and energy. You are a valuable part of our society,” he said.
He highlighted Kerala’s role as “a shining example of India’s strength and achievement”, noting its distinction in education, innovation, and social harmony. Commending the state’s leadership, Sheikh Nahyan congratulated Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for “the remarkable achievement of eradicating extreme poverty”, calling it a model for others to follow.
The minister also recognised the enduring bond between Kerala and the UAE, emphasising that the two share “many common threads and values” rooted in peace and mutual respect. He expressed admiration for the Malayali diaspora’s hard work and resilience, stating that their presence enriches both nations.
“Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s leadership continues to guide our nation with compassion and human dignity,” Sheikh Nahyan said, noting that the UAE’s inclusive and tolerant society mirrors the spirit of Kerala’s own social progress.
He also paid tribute to Lulu Group Chairman Yusuff Ali, describing him as “a dedicated son not only of Kerala but of the UAE”, and praised his role in strengthening cultural and economic ties.
Concluding his address, Sheikh Nahyan extended greetings on Kerala Piravi Day, affirming that the UAE and India “look forward with confidence and optimism toward an enduring and prosperous future together.”
