Thiruvananthapuram: Following the launch of Kerala’s “CM with Me” (Mukhyamanthri Ennodoppam) initiative, actor Tovino Thomas became the first caller to the newly inaugurated call center. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan personally attended the call and asked Tovino about his location. The actor replied from Thodupuzha, expressing his joy over the launch of such a program.
Tovino praised the initiative, calling it a “welcomable approach” that directly links citizens with the government. He highlighted the value of having the opportunity to discuss grievances with the Chief Minister and extended his best wishes for the program’s success.
Responding, Chief Minister Vijayan thanked the actor, acknowledging his support and encouraging public figures like him to continue assisting the government in future initiatives. “All the kind words you shared, I extend my heartfelt thanks,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister continued to personally attend calls from citizens. The second caller expressed gratitude for receiving a house under a government initiative and requested a K-FON connection, which the CM assured would be considered. Another caller, Anitha, thanked the Chief Minister for financial assistance received from the CM Relief Fund for her medical treatment.
The program, designed to strengthen direct communication between the public and the government, is part of Kerala’s broader effort under Nava Kerala Nirmithi to ensure timely grievance redressal, transparency, and citizen participation in governance.
The Citizen Connect Center, located at the old Air India office in Vellayambalam, provides services through the toll-free number 1800-425-6789. The Chief Minister described "CM with Me" as a system aimed at bridging communication gaps between the public and the government.
