Sudhakaran and Other MPs in Fierce Standoff: Congress in Turmoil

New Delhi: There have been dramatic political developments within Congress in Delhi. Several Congress MPs have expressed a strong desire to contest elections in Kerala. From the very beginning, this desire has been voiced by MPs from various regions, and they have raised these concerns with the party leaders. Recent discussions have revolved around whether MPs should be allowed to contest, with the Congress high command initially taking the stance that MPs should not run for elections.
Despite this, MPs such as K. Sudhakaran and Adoor Prakash remained firm in their position that they should be allowed to contest. Kudikunnil also expressed interest in the seat. Later, MP M.K. Raghavan joined the discussion, similarly indicating his desire to contest. Raghavan told the media after meeting Sudhakaran that party leaders had suggested he contest from a seat where the party traditionally loses. However, he responded by saying the leaders had indicated that he would win from that seat if he contested.
It has been reported that some leaders of the Muslim League, among others, informed M.K. Raghavan about this situation, and he conveyed this information to the party leaders. Meanwhile, Adoor Prakash and K. Sudhakaran have remained steadfast in their demand to contest the elections. Given the lack of strong leaders from the Ezhava community, the call for Adoor Prakash to contest has gained further momentum within the high command.
In summary, with K. Sudhakaran continuing to strongly oppose the party's decision, the high command has decided to review the matter further.
