Rahul Mamkootathil Granted Anticipatory Bail With Conditions in Second Sexual Assault Case

Thiruvananthapuram: Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil has been granted anticipatory bail in the second sexual assault case registered against him. The Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court issued the order on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Kerala High Court had stayed Rahul's arrest in the first case. With this, the MLA—who is currently absconding—now has protection from arrest in both cases.

The court granted bail with conditions, including that Rahul must appear before the investigating officer every Monday and fully cooperate with the probe. The anticipatory bail in the second case comes at a time when police teams have been searching for the MLA after multiple allegations of sexual assault surfaced against him.
