P Rajeev Says Chief Minister Must Reveal Who Funded His Mysterious Trips

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) Central Committee member P Rajeev has demanded that Chief Minister V D Satheesan disclose who funded his recent trips. He said it would amount to a serious offence if the Chief Minister travelled on a chartered flight at the expense of a company that had applied to the government for renewal of the helicopter rental contract and was awaiting a decision.

The UDF government has become synonymous with corruption and extravagance, Rajeev alleged. “Keralam is now being governed by a government sponsored by corporates. There has never been a government that has acted with such arrogance,” he said.

Satheesan had said at a press conference on Wednesday that he had travelled on sponsorship from private individuals and would continue to do so. He was responding to questions from journalists about the sponsor of the chartered flight used for his trip to Malappuram.
