Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan dedicated the ‘Namude Keralam’ mobile application and web portal to the state, marking a significant step toward making Kerala a fully digitally literate state. Describing the initiative as a milestone in the history of governance, he also inaugurated the construction of a new building for Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT).


The 'Namude Keralam' app has been designed to enable citizens to interact with the government in Malayalam through their smartphones. The platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate for even those who are not well versed with technoloy. Citizens can submit applications for various government services without visiting offices in person and track their status in real time via SMS and WhatsApp notifications.


The Chief Minister highlighted that users will also have the option to interact with officials through scheduled video calls, ensuring greater transparency and accessibility in public service delivery.


The application includes features to report instances of corruption and an SOS system to provide assistance during emergencies. At the event, the Chief Minister also released the revised IT Policy 2026, outlining the government’s vision to transform Kerala into a $50 billion IT market by 2030.


He stated that digital equality will be strengthened through the Kerala Fibre Optic Network (K-FON) project, while private IT parks will be actively encouraged. Emphasizing the state’s digital strategy, he noted that the policy of “Mobile First, Malayalam First” is being implemented to ensure inclusive and citizen-centric e-governance.
