Those Who Directly Strengthen BJP Are Making Deal Allegations, Says M. A. Baby; Slams Congress

CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby
Pathanamthitta: M A Baby, General Secretary of CPI(M), has accused the Congress of indirectly strengthening the BJP, even as its leaders raise allegations of political “deals” in Kerala.
Speaking at a press conference in Pathanamthitta, Baby said that senior Congress leaders have been repeating what he termed “baseless” deal allegations. He also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making “false statements,” adding that such claims are unbecoming of senior political figures.
Citing examples from other states, he stated that Congress actions had contributed to the BJP’s rise to power. He claimed that in Tripura, Congress votes had effectively shifted to the BJP, facilitating its victory, while in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress leaders themselves had moved to the BJP. He also referred to Delhi politics, alleging that Congress failed to oppose attempts to portray Aam Aadmi Party leaders as corrupt, indirectly benefiting the BJP.
He further pointed to Thrissur, stating that the BJP won a sitting Congress seat in the last Loksabha elections, which he cited as further evidence of the party’s weakening position.
The senior CPI(M) leader warned that the Congress should not pursue short-term political gains at the cost of strengthening a “communal party.” He also accused the UDF of attempting to create a false impression that the CPI(M) is aligned with communal forces.
Reiterating his party’s stance, he said that the CPI(M) and LDF stand firmly with minority communities and claimed that it was the LDF that effectively curtailed the BJP’s growth in Kerala.
