Kerala’s e-Health Project Now Operational in 1,001 Hospitals

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s e-Health project, designed to make medical services faster and more accessible, is now functional in 1,001 hospitals across the state, Health Minister Veena George said on Thursday.
The digital system enables patients to receive treatment quickly without standing in long queues. So far, over 2.63 crore people have completed permanent Unique Health ID (UHID) registration. Through temporary registrations, more than 6.73 crore treatments have been provided, and 16.85 lakh people have been admitted to hospitals via the e-Health platform.
The system allows patients to obtain OP tickets in advance and provides facilities for digital payments, online ticket generation, and easy access through the m-eHealth mobile application and the ‘Scan & Book’ feature. Patients seeking follow-up treatment can book advance tokens through the e-Health portal (https://ehealth.kerala.gov.in) or the m-eHealth app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.gov.kerala.ehealth.mhealth), ensuring faster service and shorter waiting times. All patient records, including treatment history, laboratory results, and prescriptions, are available online, allowing better continuity of care.
To create a Unique Health ID, users can visit the e-Health portal and click on the registration link. By entering their Aadhaar number, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Once verified, the system generates a 16-digit personal health identification number and password, which can be used for booking appointments and accessing health records.
For assistance, the DISHA helpline can be contacted at 104, 1056, 0471 2552056, or 2551056.
