Kerala Accounts for 60% of PSC Appointments Nationwide; Three Lakh Recommendations in Nine and a Half Years

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala continues to lead the country in Public Service Commission appointments, accounting for 60 percent of total PSC recruitments nationwide. Over the past nine and a half years, the Kerala PSC has recommended appointments to three lakh candidates through transparent and time-bound procedures.
In 2023, the Commission issued 34,110 appointment recommendations. In 2024, the number stood at 34,194, and in 2025, 37,425 candidates received appointment recommendations. With a higher number of retirements expected in the coming months, more vacancies are likely to be reported, creating additional opportunities for job seekers.
Officials attribute the steady pace of recruitment to the full digitisation of procedures, the creation of new posts in various departments, and improved reporting of vacancies by government institutions. They say these measures have helped speed up the appointment process and reduce delays.
At the same time, PSC sources have rejected claims made by the Opposition and sections of the media regarding the validity of rank lists and appointments. They said there are clear rules governing how rank lists are prepared and how long they remain in force. In the case of college lecturer posts, expected vacancies are taken into account while preparing the lists.
The Commission also has the authority to extend the validity of rank lists if required, officials clarified. They urged job aspirants not to be misled by what they described as inaccurate reports that could create unnecessary concern.
