Case Filed Against Organisers After Rush at Hanan Shah’s Kasargod Event Injures Several

Kasargod: A case has been registered against the organisers of singer Hanan Shah’s music program in Kasargod, where a stampede-like rush left several people injured. Police have booked five organisers and one committee member in connection with the incident. Charges include acting in a manner dangerous to human life and assembling an unlawful crowd.
According to police, the organisers had requested permission to allow 5,000 people into the venue. However, authorities had warned that the small ground could accommodate only around 3,000 attendees. Ignoring the directive, the organisers allegedly issued tickets and admitted nearly 10,000 people, leading to severe overcrowding. Around 20 people reportedly suffered discomfort and minor injuries in the chaos.
The incident occurred on the final day of an exhibition held near the new bus stand ground in Kasargod, where Hanan Shah was performing. District Police Chief Vijay Bharat Reddy reached the venue and ordered the program to be stopped. Police used lathis to disperse the crowd as the area became heavily congested. Traffic in the town was disrupted for hours, and even ambulances struggled to pass through.
