Strict Action Promised in Ibrahim Kutty Haji Death Case, Says Minister M Liju

Thiruvananthapuram: Co-operation Minister M Liju has said that strict action will be taken as soon as the report on the death of Ibrahim Kutty Haji is received. He made clear that those responsible would not be shielded regardless of their political affiliation, and that a detailed report had been sought and all legal measures would be pursued.
Ibrahim Kutty Haji of Thiruvalloor Chiriya Kandoth set himself on fire outside the residence of Kozhikode District Congress Committee (DCC) Secretary Sudheer Kumar on Friday morning, in despair over a large sum of investment money he had failed to recover. He died at around 8 pm while undergoing treatment for severe burns at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
Ibrahim Kutty Haji arrived at Sudheer's residence at around 10:30 am, poured petrol over himself, and set himself alight. Neighbours and members of the household who saw the flames rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
