Nedumbassery Crash: Devika’s Family Demands Murder Charge Against Suhail

Kochi: The family of Devika, one of the three scooter riders killed when a speeding Mini Cooper rammed into them in Nedumbassery, has demanded that murder charges be filed against the accused, Suhail. The family also expressed suspicion that the crash may have been deliberate.

“Devika was an excellent student, and the entire family had high hopes for her. She was only 21. We know that those who have died will never come back, but we do not want anyone else to suffer what we have gone through,” Devika’s family told the media.

The family said they hope the government would ensure a fair intervention in the case.

Investigators have found that the accused drove after drinking at three bars. The Motor Vehicles Department is examining whether the vehicle was travelling at excessive speed.

“We do not believe this was an accident that happened unintentionally. All three were deliberately killed. A murder case must be registered against the accused. We will continue our fight until he is punished,” the family said.
