Cooking Gas Crisis: War Room Set Up at Civil Supplies Commissionerate

Thiruvananthapuram: A war room has been set up at the Civil Supplies Commissionerate to take urgent measures to address the cooking gas crisis. This action was taken following a decision made at a meeting of top officials and oil companies, chaired by the Chief Minister the other day.
Oil companies have stated that they will consider the government's request to prioritise the distribution of cylinders for commercial purposes, with a focus on priority areas such as schools and college hostels, guest houses, and canteens in government and public sector office campuses. The oil companies will immediately submit information on non-domestic consumers to the government. With the support of the Civil Supplies War Room and the IT Mission team, this data will be analysed to prepare a priority list.
Oil companies will take steps to provide daily updates on the stock, arrival, distribution, and balance of public sector gas agencies to the district administration and the Public Distribution Department before 11 a.m. each day. Additionally, oil companies will provide information on the daily production and stock movement of the bottling plants to the State Civil Supplies Commissioner's office, in a format that can be monitored on a daily basis. The Taluk Supply Office will assess the stock and distribution information of private gas agencies daily.
