Aranmula Vallasadya Resumes After Temporary Suspension as Water Level Recedes

Pathanamthitta: The Aranmula Vallasadya, which had been temporarily suspended due to heavy rain and flooding, resumed on Thursday after the water level in the Pampa River receded.

The Maramon Palliyodam was accorded a ceremonial reception at the temple ghat under the leadership of Palliyoda Seva Sangham president K.V. Sambadevan. With floodwaters subsiding, the 'Karakkar' have begun arriving with their traditional snake boats. Thursday's Vallasadya was conducted for the Thekkemuri East and Maramon Palliyodams.

As part of the KSRTC Budget Tourism programme, around 250 visitors reached Aranmula on Thursday. Those travelling with special passes were served the traditional feast at the Panchajanyam Auditorium.

Organisers said that, from Friday onwards, Vallasadya for special-pass holders will be served at the Thekkedath Illam Sadya Hall. Friday's feast will be held for the Thekkemuri East and Melukara Palliyodams.

The Vallasadya events that were postponed due to adverse weather have been rescheduled for August 12, August 25 and August 29, the Palliyoda Seva Sangham said.
