‘We will kill Nasar Kolayi and CTC Abdullah’; Muslim League leaders issue murder threat

Kozhikode: Following their victory in the local body elections, the Muslim League allegedly threatened to kill Nasar Kolayi, the LDF candidate for Kozhikode district panchayat, and CTC Abdullah. The threats were reportedly made during the UDF’s celebratory procession, when former Kadiyathur panchayat ward member M T Riyas and Youth League leader Chalakal Shameer openly shouted murder threats. Their slogans specifically stated that Nasser Kolaiy and CTC Abdullah would be killed, claiming responsibility themselves.

The previous day, under the cover of a UDF celebration in Feroke, explosives were thrown at the house of a CPI M branch secretary. The device struck a coconut tree in front of the house and detonated, but women and children inside narrowly escaped unharmed. During the victory celebrations of the UDF candidate in Feroke Municipality’s Karuvantiruthi 39th division, a high-impact explosive device was hurled at the house of CPI M Irriampadam branch secretary Mubarakali. The device hit the coconut tree near the veranda and exploded with a loud noise. Mubarakali’s wife and son, who were on the veranda at the time, narrowly escaped, while parts of the tree were shattered by the blast.

Additionally, the house of the current councillor K Shiney was reportedly targeted with murder threats by UDF members, who arrived together and shouted threats.
