Khartoum: As internal conflicts rage in Sudan and South Sudan, the lives of ordinary people have become unbearable. Hundreds of thousands of people trying to escape the conflict zones are now stranded at the closed borders of neighboring countries.

International agencies are warning that the region is facing an extreme humanitarian crisis. The fighting between Sudan's paramilitary group, the RSF, and the official army is tearing the country apart.

As neighboring countries strictly close their borders for security reasons, women and children are forced to endure extreme heat and hunger. Refugee camps are experiencing severe shortages of food and life-saving medicines.

Thousands are struggling without even access to drinking water. As the war in Sudan spreads to South Sudan, refugees are left with no place to go. The United Nations is trying to deliver aid, but access to many areas is limited due to the ongoing conflict.

There is strong demand from the African Union and the international community to intervene, open the borders, and ensure protection for refugees. Reports suggest that hundreds of thousands have already fled their homes.
