New Delhi: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemned what it described as U.S. military aggression against Venezuela, following reports of American bombing of multiple sites in the Latin American country.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the CPI(M) alleged that the United States had carried out attacks as part of a broader strategy to enforce regime change in Venezuela. The party said Washington had been mobilising military and naval forces around Venezuela for several weeks, signalling what it called a “blatant act of aggression” against a sovereign nation.

The CPI(M) linked the alleged military action to the U.S. National Security Strategy 2025, announced on December 2025, accusing Washington of seeking to assert control over the Western Hemisphere. The statement described this approach as a modern extension of the Monroe Doctrine, referring to it as the “Trump corollary” that aims to bring the region under U.S. dominance.

Calling for an immediate halt to military action, the CPI(M) demanded the withdrawal of U.S. troops and naval forces from the Caribbean Sea. It said Latin America should be declared a zone of peace and urged the United States to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of independent nations.

The party also appealed to the international community to intervene, urging the United Nations Security Council to pass a resolution condemning the alleged aggression. According to the CPI(M), global pressure is necessary to compel the United States to end its actions against Venezuela immediately.

The statement reiterates the CPI(M)’s longstanding opposition to foreign military interventions and its support for national sovereignty.
