New Audio Clip Allegedly Shows Rahul Mankootathil Pressuring Woman for Abortion

Thiruvananthapuram: A new audio clip has surfaced in the sexual abuse allegations against Congress leader and MLA Rahul Mankootathil. The WhatsApp voice recording, released by News Malayalam channel, allegedly features Rahul pressuring the woman involved to undergo an abortion.

In the audio, the woman questions Rahul about why he is asking her to “kill the baby,” pointing out that she was not the one who insisted on having a child in the first place. Rahul, however, offers no response to her questions. The recording reportedly makes it clear that he repeatedly urges her to go to the hospital and terminate the pregnancy.

Another WhatsApp message, also made public, suggests that Rahul had earlier encouraged the woman to become pregnant and expressed a desire to have a child. The woman is heard asking why he has suddenly changed his stance when having a child was originally “his plan.” Instead of responding, Rahul allegedly responds with abusive language.

Earlier audio clips had also emerged in which Rahul was purportedly heard both pressuring the woman to undergo an abortion and issuing threats. Despite multiple leaked chats and recordings, Rahul Mankootathil has not responded publicly to the allegations.

Following complaints raised by the woman—supported by female leaders within the Congress—Rahul was suspended from the party’s primary membership. The Congress leadership has stated that it currently has no association with him. However, Rahul has continued to remain active in Congress-related events, including those connected to the local body elections.
