Mahila Congress Leader R Rashmi Joins BJP

Thiruvananthapuram: R Rashmi, a prominent leader of the Mahila Congress, has officially joined the BJP. Rashmi accepted membership from BJP State President Rajeev Chandrashekar during a ceremony held at Mararji Bhavan. The event was attended by BJP leaders including State General Secretary Adv. S. Suresh, Kollam East District President Raji Prasad, and NDA Vice-Chairman A. N. Radhakrishnan.

At the event Rashmi said, “I am happy to join the BJP, and I will always remember the love and affection I received from the Congress party with gratitude.” She was the UDF candidate from Kottarakkara in 2021. Congress members have often shown that it doesn’t take long for them to switch sides, and her decision to join the BJP is yet another example of Congress' fluid political stance.
