Medical Negligence at Vandanam Medical College: Doctor and Nurse Suspended

Thiruvananthapuram: The Health Department has taken action in connection with the surgical error that occurred in the case of Usha Joseph. Dr. Shahida, who performed the surgery, and Nursing Officer P. S. Dhanya have been suspended as part of the investigation. This action follows the submission of the preliminary investigation report by the college principal.

Health Minister Veena George has announced that strict action will be taken against those found responsible for the surgical error. An expert committee has been appointed to conduct a detailed investigation. The inquiry team includes the Professor of the Department of Gynecology, the Head of the Forensic Department, and a Professor from the Department of Surgery at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
