Malayali student dies by suicide in Surat; students protest on campus

Surat, Rajasthan: A Malayali student committed suicide in Surat. The deceased is Advait Nair, a native of Thrissur. Advait was a third- year B.Tech student at SVNIT, Surat. He jumped from a hostel building in the suicide attempt. Students on campus are protesting.

Students claim that although he was still alive, treatment was delayed. The ambulance reportedly waited on the ground for about half an hour. They also allege that he was not given prompt treatment even at the hospital.
