Two Killed, Ten Injured in Tempo Traveller-Tipper Lorry Collision in Malappuram

Malappuram: Two people were killed and ten others injured when a tempo traveller and a tipper lorry collided in a devastating accident in Kondotty, Malappuram. The deceased have been identified as Rajesh, the tempo's driver and a native of Vadavannur in Palakkad, and Ramani (60) of Murkashankkunnu Vayanasal in Palakkad, who was a passenger.


Ten injured persons have been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, with five of them reported to be in critical condition. The traveller was carrying 27 passengers at the time of the accident, while three people were in the lorry. The impact of the collision was severe enough to completely destroy the front section of the traveller.


Police and local residents reached the scene immediately and led the rescue operations. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been established.
