Four Member Committee to Study E Sreedharan's High-Speed Rail Interim Report; Silverline Critic Included

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has constituted a four-member committee to study the interim report on the high-speed rail project submitted by E Sreedharan to the central and state governments last week. The committee has been asked to examine the technical, financial, and environmental aspects of the project and submit its report within three weeks.
Notably, the committee includes environmentalist Sridhar Radhakrishnan, who had opposed the SilverLine project. Transport Secretary will serve as convenor, with railway expert J Vinayan and financial expert Dr C Veeramani as the other members. Chief Minister's Officer on Special Duty N S K Umesh will work alongside the Transport Secretary. The committee's mandate covers not just technical and financial viability but also environmental impact assessment.
