Governor Appoints BJP-Linked Leader as Keralam Agricultural University Interim VC

Thiruvananthapuram: Following his move at MG University, the Governor has now appointed a BJP organisational leader as interim Vice Chancellor of the Kerala Agricultural University. Dr Sajitha Rani has been given the appointment by Raj Bhavan.

This marks the second instance of a VC with BJP-Sangh Parivar links being appointed — following a similar move at MG University — with reports indicating that the appointment came after rejecting the names recommended by the Agriculture Minister.

The Governor's earlier move to pack the MG University Senate with Sangh Parivar-BJP members during its reconstitution had also sparked controversy, with the Governor — who also serves as Chancellor — nominating 19 people, including BJP national committee member J Pramila Devi, to the 30-member Senate.
