MP John Brittas Seeks Urgent Intervention to Help Kerala Woman Return from Kuwait for Wedding

John Brittas MP(L), Letter he wrote the Indian Ambassador in Kuwait (R)
New Delhi/Kuwait: John Brittas MP has written to the Indian Ambassador in Kuwait, urging immediate intervention to expedite visa cancellation procedures for a Malayali woman stranded in the Gulf ahead of her wedding.
The woman, Shwetha Madhu, was an employee of Kuwait Airways. Her wedding is scheduled for April 18, with ceremonies set to begin on April 16.
Shwetha, who joined the airlines in February, had applied for leave to attend her wedding, but her request was reportedly denied. She subsequently resigned from her position on March 4. However, delays in internal clearance procedures have held up the cancellation of her visa and the issuance of an exit permit, preventing her from returning to India.
Currently, her file is awaiting approval from the airline’s finance department. With only days left for the wedding, the delay has caused significant anxiety for Shwetha and her family.
In his letter, Brittas urged the embassy to treat the matter with urgency and coordinate with Kuwait Airways authorities and immigration officials to complete the necessary clearances. He also called on the embassy to ensure all possible assistance is provided to facilitate her timely return to India.
