Pathanamthitta: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan responded to the Congress campaigning against the LDF by reminding them of the history of the Co-le-B alliance. During a press conference, the Chief Minister said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress are the B-team of the BJP.

He noted that the BJP’s entry into the Assembly from Nemom in 2016 was part of a Congress deal. He said that they have not forgotten the Co-le-B alliance and that Congress has always tried to ally with such forces. The Chief Minister questioned where the Congress votes went in Nemom in 2016, explaining that it was a deal made to get a Congress leader to win in another constituency. Later, they decided to close the Nemom account, which allowed V. Sivankutty to come to the Assembly.

He also raised concerns about the state of the all-India leadership of Congress, asking how long Rahul Gandhi and the Congress will continue to act as the BJP’s B-team. When the BJP targeted the opposition in Delhi, Congress did not oppose them, and when Kejriwal was arrested, Congress celebrated. In Delhi, Congress contested against the AAP, which paved the way for the BJP’s victory. This pattern repeated in the Haryana Assembly elections, and as a result, Congress has become the BJP’s B-team. The Chief Minister emphasised that this is something the public needs to recognise.
