Kozhikode: The media's question about the fuel crisis was met with an unclear response from the Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Suresh Gopi. When asked about the current fuel crisis and the price hike in the country, Gopi suggested that if one wanted to know about fuel prices, they should inquire at the ministry.

The energy crisis in India has become severe due to the ongoing U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes, which have created disruptions in global energy supplies. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the targeted attacks on energy facilities by the U.S. and Iran have further strained the global fuel supply.

Meanwhile, amid the energy crisis in the country, Nayara Energy raised fuel prices, increasing petrol by Rs 5.30 per litre and diesel by Rs 3. The new rates are now in effect. Other companies are also expected to follow suit, raising concerns. Nayara explained that the hike was due to the rise in crude oil prices. Nayara Energy is the largest private retail fuel company in the country and has several petrol stations, including in Kerala.
