Parvathy Maya Shaji to Be Questioned Again in Job Fraud Case

Kochi: Palarivattom police are preparing to question Amster Immigration Overseas CEO Parvathy Maya Shaji again in connection with a case involving the alleged swindling of lakhs of rupees by promising overseas jobs. She was released on bail in the case.

People who fell victim to the fraud staged a protest at the company's office in Edappally the other day. They told police who arrived at the spot that they had neither received the money they paid nor the jobs that had been promised. Police are expected to question Parvathy based on these complaints as well.

Police said Parvathy is required to surrender her passport as part of her bail conditions. Around 400 job seekers staged a protest at the Edappally office on Monday, with some of them having paid up to Rs 12 lakh to secure jobs abroad. The protesters left after company representatives handed them promissory notes promising repayment.

The investigation is also continuing against Parvathy's husband Aneesh Menon and managers Abhijith, Aju K Mathew, Vishnu Vijayan and Shaji.

The group allegedly collected lakhs of rupees from job seekers by promising high-paying jobs in countries including Poland, Armenia and Canada. Police had earlier found that the establishment at Edappally was operating without a Protector of Emigrants (POE) licence issued under the Ministry of External Affairs.

The accused have been charged with offences including cheating and violations of the Immigration Act. The action was initiated based on complaints that money was collected from several job seekers between 2023 and 2025 by promising employment abroad.

Palarivattom police have also submitted reports to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), seeking an investigation into foreign financial transactions.
