Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Return to UK After Six Years in the US

London: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back on British soil, having reportedly touched down at Birmingham airport, setting the stage for what is being described as an extended stay in the country.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have brought their children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, along with them. Both children have already been enrolled in a UK school, with classes set to begin next week.

News of the family's move back to Britain first broke last week, six years after the couple relocated to California and stepped away from official royal duties. Reports indicate King Charles was given only four days' notice before the news became public.

Even though the Sussexes' representatives had not officially confirmed the arrival, it was reported by BBC and other media outlets that the family had landed in Birmingham around midday.

According to reports, the couple intend to stay at a non-royal residence outside London. There is no indication that either Harry or Meghan will resume official royal responsibilities.

Meghan is expected to keep running her lifestyle brand, As Ever, remotely from the UK, while making periodic trips back to the United States. Speculation has also grown around a possible return to acting for the former Suits star, with conflicting accounts circulating about a potential role in the next season of Netflix's The Gentlemen.

The couple originally left royal life and the UK in early 2020, moving to US, following reported internal conflicts within the royal family.
