Iranian Delegation Pays In-Flight Tribute to Victims of US-Israel Attack on Minab School

Islamabad: In a symbolic and emotionally charged gesture, an Iranian delegation travelling to Islamabad for high-stakes peace talks transformed their flight into a memorial for victims of the devastating Minab school strike.

Images emerging from inside the aircraft showed empty seats arranged with photographs, blood-stained school bags, shoes, and other personal belongings of children killed in the attack. The display was intended to highlight the human cost of the ongoing conflict and serve as a stark reminder ahead of negotiations.

The delegation, led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, is in Pakistan for crucial diplomatic talks with the United States amid a fragile ceasefire. Sharing visuals from the flight, Ghalibaf described the victims as “companions” on the journey, referencing the large number of children killed in the strike.

The Minab attack, which occurred on February 28 in southern Iran, targeted a primary school and resulted in the deaths of over 160 children. The incident has since become one of the most tragic symbols of civilian suffering in the ongoing conflict.

Officials and analysts say the in-flight tribute was not only an act of remembrance but also a calculated diplomatic message. By foregrounding the loss of innocent lives, Iran appears to be reinforcing its position and moral argument ahead of negotiations, which are being closely watched internationally.

The delegation’s arrival in Islamabad comes at a critical juncture, with both Iranian and US officials engaging in what are being described as “make-or-break” talks aimed at stabilising the region after weeks of hostilities.
