Paris: France has called on Iran and the United States to engage in compromise to ease tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and ensure the safe movement of commercial shipping through the region.

France’s appeal comes amid growing concerns that escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington could severely impact the global economy and international trade routes. As part of its response, France has deployed a naval task force led by the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to the Red Sea. The security initiative has reportedly been coordinated in partnership with United Kingdom, and 12 countries have already expressed willingness to participate in the mission.

France has proposed that Iranian vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz be granted secure transit routes. In return, Paris has urged Iran to resume discussions with the United States on issues related to its nuclear program. France has also called on Washington to reconsider and lift restrictions imposed in the Hormuz region.

According to reports, if both sides accept these proposals, a multinational naval force would be deployed to provide protection for cargo vessels operating in the area. Naval ships from Italy and Netherlands are also accompanying the French fleet as part of the mission.
