Epstein Case: Images Linked to Trump, Clinton, Gates Reportedly Vanish From DOJ Site

US President Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein
Washington DC: Sixteen images believed to reveal links between prominent figures and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have reportedly gone missing from the website of the US Department of Justice. The missing files allegedly include images featuring former and current high profile personalities, including US President Donald Trump. Authorities have not yet clarified why the files were removed or disappeared.
According to reports, the Epstein files contain images of Donald Trump, former US President Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and others. The House Oversight Committee is said to be in possession of around 95,000 photographs obtained from Epstein’s estate, and there had been earlier indications that the committee was preparing to release more material publicly.
The disappearance of the files comes after long-standing demands that the US Justice Department make public the case records related to Epstein. A US court had recently granted permission for the Justice Department to release the files. Epstein was convicted for trafficking and sexually abusing numerous underage girls. He was first arrested in 2006 and was convicted in 2008 in one case, while several other cases remained pending. In August 2019, Epstein was found dead in his jail cell, in what was officially ruled a death by suicide.
Epstein was known to have close associations with several influential figures. Reports note that Donald Trump and Epstein were friends in the early 2000s, and a controversial, allegedly explicit birthday note and image said to have been sent by Trump to Epstein had surfaced earlier.
A special investigation by the House Oversight Committee also uncovered thousands of pages of emails and documents from Epstein’s estate. Among them was a scanned copy of a controversial birthday book titled “The First Fifty Years,” which reportedly contains ten sections, including a foreword written by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was later convicted for her role in Epstein’s crimes.
The unexplained removal of the images has renewed scrutiny and raised questions about transparency surrounding the handling of the Epstein case materials.
