SFI Launches ‘School Bachao’ Movement at National Convention in Gwalior

Gwalior: The Students' Federation of India (SFI) has launched its nationwide ‘School Bachao’ (Save Schools) movement during a national convention held in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The convention was inaugurated by Lok Sabha MP Amraram and attended by around 200 delegates from across the country.
The event featured key addresses from education activist Upendra Sharma and senior SFI leaders, including President Adarsh M Saji, General Secretary Srijan Bhattacharyya, Vice Presidents Shilpa Surendran and Subhash Jakhar, and Joint Secretaries Aishe Ghosh and Anil Thakur. Shilpa Surendran presented a report on the deterioration of public schools in India, while Subhash Jakhar outlined the movement’s action plan.
Delegates discussed the worsening state of public education and criticised the indifference of BJP-led governments towards public schools. The convention adopted a charter of demands and a framework for action, resolving to take the movement to the grassroots level, mobilising communities affected by the decline in public education.
The convention emphasised collective action to protect public schools and ensure quality education for all.
