Toddler Trapped Inside Locked Car Rescued by Fire Services in Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta: A one-and-a-half-year-old child who was trapped inside a locked car was safely rescued by the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services on Wednesday morning.
The child, identified as Evan, son of Pathanamthitta native Kiran T. Mathew, got locked inside an automatically locking car that was parked in the porch of the family house. According to officials, the toddler had entered the vehicle with the key, after which the car got locked from inside. The incident occurred around 10 am.
The child’s mother, Anita, and others at the house initially tried to open the car but were unsuccessful. They later alerted the Thiruvalla Fire and Rescue Services station, following which two fire service units rushed to the spot.
Firefighters used a specialised glass catcher device to carefully pull down the window glass and safely rescue the child without causing injury. The operation was completed swiftly, bringing relief to the family and onlookers.
The rescue was carried out under the leadership of Assistant Station Officer K. S. Ajith, along with fire service personnel N. R. Sashikumar, K. Satheesh Kumar, Sooraj Murali, Mukesh Kumar, Shivaprasad, Vipin, Vinod Titus, Mukesh, and Home Guard Lalu.
