"Seen This Man? Tell the Police”: SFI Leads Wanted-Notice Protest Against Rahul Mamkoottathil

Palakkad: Protests have intensified in Kerala against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, who is accused in a case involving sexual assault and forced abortion. After the young woman submitted a direct complaint to the Chief Minister and Rahul subsequently went into hiding, the SFI district committee staged a protest using a symbolic lookout notice. The demonstration took place around commercial areas and the main bus stand in the city.
The notice distributed by SFI listed the criminal sections invoked against Rahul, stating that he has been charged under BNS 64 for rape; 64(2) for repeated sexual assault; 64(1) for molestation; 64(h) for using his position of authority to abuse; and 64(m) for continual exploitation of the same woman. Additional charges include Section 89 related to abortion, Section 316 for breach of trust, and IT Act 68(e). The public was urged to report any information regarding Rahul to the nearest police station.
DYFI also launched a state-wide poster and protest campaign against Rahul Mamkoottathil. Their posters carried the stark message: “The coffin of a child is the heaviest; the one who deceived the mother and killed the child in her womb is the most brutal.” Following the complaint detailing sexual abuse and coercion into abortion, DYFI members marched to the MLA’s office in Palakkad and placed a symbolic wreath there as part of the protest.
Leaders of SFI and DYFI said the protest movement will intensify in the coming days and insisted that Mamkoottathil is unfit to continue as MLA even for a single moment.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under non-bailable sections based on the young woman’s complaint and issued a lookout notice for Rahul. The notice has been circulated to airports to prevent him from leaving the country. The Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner has already communicated the order to the Bureau of Immigration, and authorities are preparing to move forward with his arrest.'
