Kochi: The High Court has rejected the UDF’s petition against the Information and Public Relations Department's advertisement explaining the government's achievements.

The court did not accept the UDF’s demand to halt the PRD’s newspaper advertisement. It clarified that the government can proceed with the advertisement.

The High Court observed that the allegations in the petition do not appear to hold up at first glance. The court will first examine whether such petitions, which seem to have a political objective, can be considered as public interest petitions. The court also rejected the petitioners' demand to produce PRD documents. This ensures that there will be no hindrance to the government’s campaign programs.

The main allegation made by the Congress was that the controversial advertisement was being funded by misusing treasury funds.
