New Posts to Be Created Across Various Departments in the State: Cabinet Decision

Thiruvananthapuram: The 16th session of Kerala’s 15th Legislative Assembly is proposed to be convened from January 20, following a request submitted to the Governor.

New Posts Created in Kochi Cancer Research Centre

A total of 159 positions, including 91 permanent and 68 contractual posts, will be created at the Kochi Cancer Research Centre. Additionally, the Forensic Science Laboratory will see the creation of 12 Scientific Officer posts distributed across departments: Biology – 3, Chemistry – 4, Documents – 5.


Additional Bench for Administrative Tribunal in Thalassery

The old Additional District Court complex in Thalassery will host an additional bench of the Kerala Administrative Tribunal. Sixteen new posts will be created, and six existing posts will be redeployed, making a total of 22 positions. Civil and electrical works for the building are estimated at 87.3 lakh rupees, with office infrastructure costing 1.89 crore rupees.

Retirement Age Standardised

The retirement age of employees at Kerala Agro Missionary Corporation Limited (KAMCO) has been unified at 60 years. Similarly, the Kerala Livestock Development Board Limited has raised the retirement age of its employees to 60 years.

Part-Time Contingent Staff to Be Regularised

Part-time staff working in cultural centres, panchayat libraries, nursery schools, and other government-run facilities on honorarium or daily wage basis, with over ten years of continuous service, will be regularised. Categories include librarians and nursery teachers. Employees shifted from employment exchange appointments to honorarium/daily wage positions will also benefit.

Special Compensation Package Approved

A special compensation package has been approved for the Udupi-Karindalam (Kasargod) 400 KV interstate transmission line project. The financial liability arising from the package will be borne entirely by Udupi Kasargod Transmission Limited (UKTL), a special purpose vehicle formed by Sterlite Power Transmission Limited for this project.

Manoj Kumar C P has been appointed Managing Director of Kerala Agro Industries Corporation Limited.

Salary Arrears Cleared

Salary arrears for 16 Junior Health Inspectors who served temporarily in endosulfan- affected areas of Kasargod have been sanctioned. The arrears for April–May 2024, amounting to 5,70,560 rupees, will be settled in the 2025–26 financial year under the Kasargod Development Package.

Funds Allocated

The Alappuzha District Collector has been authorised to allocate funds from the State Disaster Response Fund to cover rental and fuel costs for pump sets used to prevent flooding in paddy fields in Kuttanad.

Tender Sanctioned

A tender worth 1,65,10,221 rupees for the BC overlay work on Odanavattom-Valakom Road (CH 0/000 to 4/100 KM) in Kollam district under GENERAL-FDR 2024–25 has been accepted.
