Vistadome Coaches on Madurai–Guruvayur Express Become a Hit, Tickets Sold Out

Thiruvananthapuram: Vistadome coaches introduced on the Madurai–Guruvayur Express have become a major hit, with all tickets for this week sold out. Demand is also high for the upcoming weeks as well. The Madurai–Guruvayur Express, which runs through the Kollam–Punalur–Shenkottai route, is the first train in Keralam to be allotted a vistadome coach.

The vistadome coach will be available on train No. 16327 from Madurai to Guruvayur from October 22 to January 15, and on train No. 16328 from Guruvayur to Madurai from October 23 to January 16.

The coach will operate on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on the Madurai–Guruvayur route, and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays on the Guruvayur–Madurai route.

All vistadome tickets for the Madurai–Guruvayur service for the week have been sold out with reservations reaching the waitlist for all four days. All vistadome tickets for the Guruvayur–Madurai service on Friday have also been sold out, while tickets for October 24 and 25 are on the waiting list.

The Kollam–Shenkottai railway route offers a journey through steep mountain ranges, tunnels, hill slopes and riverbanks. The vistadome coach allows passengers to enjoy this natural beauty while travelling.

Large glass windows are a major attraction of these coaches. They make train journeys along routes blessed with scenic mountains and rivers a memorable experience.

In addition to glass windows, some types of vistadome coaches also feature glass roofs. Another distinctive feature is the seats that can be rotated in different directions. The journey also allows passengers to capture photographs of the beautiful scenery to their heart's content.
