LDF Grew by Implementing Manifesto, Not Media Support: Sivankutty

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala General Education and Labour Minister V. Sivankutty on Thursday said the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has advanced by implementing the promises made in its election manifesto and not merely through media support. If there are any commitments that remain unfulfilled, the Opposition should clearly point them out, he told reporters.
Stating that the CPI(M) does not function in Kerala through television debates, Sivankutty said the LDF’s real strength lies in its strong grassroots base. He said the state government has implemented several initiatives that were earlier considered difficult or unlikely, even while facing financial constraints imposed by the Centre.
Despite these challenges, the government has carried out its programmes without shifting the financial burden onto the people of Kerala, the minister said. He added that welfare schemes and development projects have continued without disruption, ensuring that the public is not affected by the Centre’s fiscal pressures on the state.
Sivankutty also expressed confidence that the LDF would secure victory in 110 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections. He said the front is approaching the polls with confidence and enthusiasm, backed by its performance in governance and its connect with the people.
