Yellow Alert Issued For Eight Districts in Keralam, Fishing Banned Along Keralam-Lakshadweep Coast Today

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has declared a yellow alert in eight districts in view of the likelihood of strong rainfall in the state today. The caution notice is in force for Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Alappuzha districts.
While no warnings are currently in place for the other districts, isolated spells of thundershowers and strong winds of 40 to 50 km/h are likely in those areas as well. Fishing has been banned along the Keralam-Lakshadweep coast today.
A yellow alert has been declared for Kasaragod and Kannur districts tomorrow, and for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts on June 25. Rainfall of between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm is forecast within 24 hours on these days.
