Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has forecast that rainfall intensity in Keralam is likely to decrease from today. Despite widespread rain in recent days, no special rain warnings have been issued for any district today. Weather observers say no heavy rain is expected in Keralam until Tuesday, with only light to moderate showers anticipated.

Isolated light to moderate rain may occur in all districts. No yellow or orange alerts are in place anywhere in the state.

Winds of up to 40 km/h are possible, and coastal residents and the general public are advised to take necessary precautions.

The weakening of a low-pressure trough that had been active along the coastline from Gujarat to Maharashtra is the reason for the reduced rainfall in Keralam. A trough from Telangana to the central east Arabian Sea and a low-pressure area over central Uttar Pradesh currently persist, but these are expected to weaken further over the coming hours.
